Tsuyo Secures Pre-Series A Funding From Avaana Capital
EV components manufacturer Tsuyo manufacturing announced on 29th October 2025 that it had secured INR 40 cr in a Pre-Series A round led by deep-tech focussed Avaana Capital.
Announcing the investment, a press release by the company said it will use the investment to establish a second R&D centre, as well as commissioning a third greenfield manufacturing facility. The manufacturing facility will focus on manufacturing high-wattage electric motors of up to 250 kW and transmission assemblies. It will have an initial annual capacity of 20,000 units. It will also feature a dedicated vehicle testing track and advanced end-of-line validation systems aligned with PM e-Drive and FAME standards.
The new R&D facility, on the other hand, will focus on hardware-based embedded software and power electronics and prototype development. The company already has ongoing research collaborations with IIT Delhi VNIT Nagpur and has already filed four patents, with 25 more in the pipeline.
Commenting on the investment, Tsuyo CEO Vijay Kumar said, “Our mission has always been to design and manufacture powertrain systems from India that compete at a global level. With Avaana’s support, we’re scaling high-wattage motor production and advancing deep-tech R&D. From magnet-less designs to novel winding approaches and localized tooling, our focus is on creating more efficient, reliable, and sustainable powertrain solutions.”
Tsuyo said it is aiming for a 7-8x growth in the next three years.
The company plans to expand its operations overseas by securing global certifications and securing OEM partnerships with global partners. “With our third plant coming online and a strong technology roadmap ahead, we’re positioning Tsuyo as a global player in powertrain innovation, built from India,” Vijay Kumar said, adding, “Our focus remains on scale, sustainability, and engineering excellence.”
Tsuyo has also been selected by MeitY for ICE-to-EV retrofit project for commercial vehicles and will be launching retrofit solutions in the 1.5T-90T category.
